Recovery, Debrief & Major Incident Final Assessment
Recovery, Debrief & Major Incident Final Assessment
The event is not over when the immediate danger stops.
After an emergency, access control, evidence preservation, welfare, reporting and debriefing continue. Staff may also need support after traumatic incidents. Accurate records help investigations and future safety improvements.
Re-entry+
Do not allow people back into an evacuated area until authorised by the appropriate command.
Evidence and logs+
Preserve radio logs, CCTV, body-worn video, reports and witness information through official systems.
Staff welfare+
Serious incidents can affect staff. Use available welfare, debrief and support routes and report injury or psychological impact where needed.
Learning+
Debriefs should identify what worked, what failed and what needs to change in plans, staffing, equipment or training.
Know the plan, report accurately, follow command, protect routes, support people and avoid uncoordinated action.
