Immediate Danger & Safe Separation
Do Not Create a Confrontation by Default
The priority is the safety of the person seeking help.
Do not automatically approach or accuse the person they are concerned about. This may escalate risk, reveal where the person has gone or prevent them leaving safely. Use colleagues, supervisors, security and police where required. If there is immediate danger, prioritise emergency action and call 999 through the venue procedure.
Do not force a reunion
Never send the person back to “sort it out” with somebody they are afraid of.
