Fire Safety Responsibilities & Prevention
Prevention Starts With Everyone
Fire safety is part of every shift, not something that begins when an alarm sounds.
Controlled Space staff may work in stadiums, concert venues, theatres, public events, offices, licensed premises and temporary event environments. Each location has its own fire risk assessment and emergency plan. Your responsibility is to understand the arrangements you are briefed on, maintain safe conditions and report anything that could compromise them.
Housekeeping+
Waste, packaging, furniture, equipment and deliveries can create fuel or obstruct escape routes. Keep work areas orderly and report unsafe accumulation.
Ignition sources+
Report damaged electrical equipment, overheating devices, unsafe charging, smoking breaches, hot works concerns or other potential ignition sources.
Escape routes+
Exits, stairs, gangways, doors and emergency-service access must remain available. Never accept an obstruction because it is convenient operationally.
Fire doors+
Fire doors help contain smoke and fire. Do not wedge, obstruct or interfere with them unless an approved automatic system and venue procedure permits it.
