Specific Safety Issues: Fire, Terrorism, Pyrotechnics, Medical & Weather

LESSON 9 OF 10

Recognise High-Consequence Issues

Specific hazards require disciplined response and current procedures.

Fire+

Keep escape routes clear, report smoke/fire immediately and follow the venue fire/evacuation plan.

Terrorism+

Remain alert to suspicious behaviour/items and follow ACT/current security procedures. Do not become complacent.

Pyrotechnics+

If an illegally used pyrotechnic is burning, do not pick it up. Move people away, leave it alone and allow trained response under the venue plan.

Medical incidents+

Protect the casualty area, call for medical support with an exact location and manage crowd pressure as instructed.

Extreme weather+

Heat, wind, rain, lightning or cold can alter crowd behaviour and safety controls. Report changing conditions.
