Safeguarding, Lost Children & Vulnerable People
Safeguarding Is Everyone’s Responsibility
Children, young people and adults at risk may need immediate support. Notice concerns, protect the person from further harm where safe to do so and report through the designated route.
Safeguarding concerns can include a lost or separated child, inappropriate adult behaviour, exploitation, harassment, neglect, domestic abuse indicators, intoxication, distress or an adult whose circumstances make them particularly vulnerable.
Lost/found children+
Report immediately and follow the stadium procedure. Do not take a child away from the agreed safe process or make unnecessary promises about what will happen next.
Confidentiality+
Share safeguarding information only with people who need it for the response. Do not discuss cases casually, post details online or conduct your own investigation.
Vulnerable adults+
Adults can also require safeguarding support because of disability, intoxication, distress, coercion, illness or other circumstances. Seek appropriate assistance.
Record facts+
If asked for an incident report, record what you saw, heard and did. Separate facts from assumptions and use the person’s own words where relevant.
Use the current Bradford City/Controlled Space briefing for any safeguarding code or radio terminology. Procedures can change, so do not rely solely on an old course or previous fixture.
