Incidents, Medical Response, Radio & Reporting
Communicate Clearly Under Pressure
Good information allows Control, supervisors, medical teams and response staff to make better decisions. Be concise, accurate and calm.
Medical incidents+
Call for trained medical assistance promptly. Do not diagnose beyond your competence. Protect space around the casualty and follow instructions.
Radio discipline+
Keep transmissions short and operational. Avoid names or sensitive personal details unless the procedure requires them and the channel is appropriate.
Incident reports+
Use times, locations, descriptions and actions. Write objectively and do not exaggerate, speculate or copy rumours into an official record.
Evidence+
Preserve relevant evidence and follow instructions regarding CCTV, body-worn video or witnesses. Do not share footage or incident details personally.
