Access Is a Security Control
A confident manner, uniform or familiar face does not replace valid authority to enter.
Check the correct ticket, pass or accreditation against the current briefing. Apply searching procedures consistently and respectfully. Know the prohibited-item and refusal process and call for support where a search, refusal or access dispute may escalate.
Tailgating+
Do not allow one authorised person to create access for another. Challenge or report attempts using the site process.
Restricted areas+
Backstage, control, plant, staff-only and other restricted areas require the correct authority.
Search integrity+
Never pretend a search has been completed. Follow the approved method and any accessibility or dignity arrangements.
Unclear credentials+
Politely hold access and verify. Do not be pressured into bypassing the control.
