Controlled Space is a trusted and reputable security provider with a wealth of experience and knowledge of the private security industry. The business, established in Leeds in May 2002, provides outstanding services and loyal care to a wide range of clients across the UK. It was created to fill an identified gap in regional market for crowd management and security providers at that time.

The company is lead by its two directors, Steve Johnson and Sylvia McCann. Both Steve and Sylvia have worked at all levels in the events and security sectors for over 30 years. Since we were founded over 22 years ago, we have strived to provide outstanding services, trusted protection and great customer care to our many clients across the UK. We offer market leading security, stewarding and crowd management solutions. Customer respect, service and safety always remain at the forefront of our business.

We hold the SIA’s Approved Contractor Status for the provision of Security Guarding, Door Supervision, CCTV Public Space Surveillance, Close Protection Services & Key Holding, making Controlled Space one of only five companies in the UK to be approved for these four sectors.

We are currently active members of the UKCMA (United Kingdom Crowd Management Association), which represents the highest professional businesses and interest groups within the sector, discusses progressive views and engages similar minded associations. The UKCMA members offer a voice to the tens of thousands of security professionals engaged within the events industry.

As a leading Event Security Company, we liaise closely with the Counter Terrorism Security Advisors from both West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire Police and others.
