<p>Learners aged 18 and over who currently hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence and require requalification training to renew it.</p>

<p><strong>26 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT)</strong> with <strong>21 hours Guided Learning (GLH)</strong>. With self-study, the minimum contact time (MCT) is 11 hours and 15 minutes over 1.5 days.</p>

<p>The qualification comprises two mandatory units:</p>

Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor (Refresher):</strong> Updated knowledge on effective search procedures, keeping vulnerable people safe, understanding terror threats and the security operative&#8217;s role, and safeguarding the public from incidents of spiking. Includes a practical search assessment.</li>
<li><strong>2. Application of Physical Intervention Skills (Refresher):</strong> Updated legal, professional, and risk implications of physical intervention. Reinforcement of dynamic risk assessment and practical skills for protection, disengagement, and non-pain compliant holding/escorting techniques. Includes a full practical demonstration assessment and oral Q&amp;A.</li>

<div class="course-info-details">
<p><strong>Age:</strong> Minimum 18 years old.</p>
<p><strong>Prerequisite:</strong> Must hold a current and valid first aid or emergency first aid certificate (e.g., Emergency First Aid at Work) that meets HSE regulations and is valid for at least 12 months from the course start date.</p>
<p><strong>Language:</strong> Sufficient competence in English/Welsh. Minimum skills equivalent to B2 CEFR, ESOL Level 1, or Functional Skills Level 1.</p>

<p>The qualification is assessed through a combination of methods for each unit:</p>

<li><strong>Knowledge:</strong> Externally set and marked 35-question MCQ exam (55 minutes). Pass mark 71%.</li>
<li><strong>Practical:</strong> Internally assessed observation of using communication devices and conducting a search (must be video recorded). Pass mark 100%.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><strong>Unit 2 (Physical Intervention):</strong>
<ul class="nested-list">
<li><strong>Knowledge:</strong> Externally set and marked 30-question MCQ exam (45 minutes). Pass mark 80%.</li>
<li><strong>Practical:</strong> Internally assessed observation of all physical intervention techniques taught and an oral Q&amp;A on critical knowledge areas (must be video recorded). Pass mark 100% for all components.</li>

<li><strong>2. Working as a Door Supervisor:</strong> Role and law specific to door supervision, searching, powers of arrest, drug misuse, incident recording, licensing law, emergency procedures, protecting vulnerable people, and queue management.</li>
<li><strong>3. Conflict Management:</strong> Principles of conflict management, risk assessment, communication to de-escalate situations, and problem-solving strategies.</li>
<li><strong>4. Physical Intervention Skills:</strong> Legal and professional implications of physical intervention, dynamic risk assessment, and practical skills for protection, disengagement, and non-pain related holding/escorting techniques.</li>
